Dr. Nicholas Makhoul received his BSc with distinction from the University of Alberta in Biochemistry, DMD at McGill University and his MD at the University of Michigan. In addition, he completed his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as a fellowship in Maxillofacial Oncology and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Michigan. Dr. Makhoul is an associate professor and Associate Dean of Post-Graduate Dental Education at McGill University and Chief of the Department of Dentistry and OMFS at the McGill University Health Centre.
Dr. Makhoul is largely committed to academic maxillofacial surgery through his participation in teaching of residents as well as research in several fields of oral health science. He is an examiner and member of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has lectured nationally and internationally on topics ranging from Antibiotics in Dentistry to facial reconstruction.
